DRAFT — to be reviewed by a lawyer before publication. Last updated: 2026-10-24
TutorHabitat is for teaching and learning. Do not use it to:
- upload content you have no right to share (e.g. full copyrighted textbooks for distribution beyond your own lessons where your licence does not allow it);
- share illegal content, including child sexual abuse material, terrorist content, hate speech or content that infringes privacy;
- harass, threaten or exploit students, especially minors;
- enter special-category data (health, religion, etc.) about students without a clear legal basis;
- attack, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service, or bypass credit and storage limits (this does not restrict acts that mandatory law allows, such as decompilation for interoperability under Directive 2009/24/EC Arts. 5–6);
- resell the service or share one account between unrelated businesses;
- use AI features to generate content that breaks the law or the AI providers' usage policies, or use them from a place where the AI provider's terms do not allow it;
- use the service in breach of sanctions or export-control laws, or from Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Crimea (including Sevastopol) or the occupied areas of the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson or Zaporizhzhia regions (see Terms §1c), including by hiding your location (for example with a VPN) to get around these restrictions; for Russia and Belarus, use the service as, or on behalf of, a legal person, entity or government body established there, or buy a paid plan or credits there.
How we moderate (DSA Art. 14). Lesson rooms are private; we do not scan or filter content automatically. We act on notices (see DSA Notice) and on our own knowledge; a person reviews every case. Possible measures: removing or disabling content, suspending or closing an account. You can ask for a review of any decision.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules, with notice and a statement of reasons where the law requires (see DSA Notice). If we become aware of apparent child sexual abuse material, we report it to NCMEC's CyberTipline where 18 U.S.C. § 2258A applies, and to the competent law-enforcement authorities (including under DSA Art. 18 where there is a threat to life or safety).
